Overview

The Administration Officer (Logistics) role focuses on leading impactful projects and ensuring excellence in logistics and procurement within a dynamic global framework.


Key Responsibilities
  • Implement key aspects of operational logistics strategies, including compliance with UNOPS rules, design and functioning of a client-oriented Logistics management system, and support in logistics, warehousing, and handover processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Logistics processes, including planning and implementing logistics systems, managing coordination and implementation of logistics activities, arranging transportation, and monitoring shipments.
  • Implement Logistics Management strategy and tools, including development and management of supplier rosters, utilization of the e-sourcing module, monitoring contractor performance, and drafting Long Term Agreements.
  • Provide in-depth analysis, interpretation, and judgment in the implementation of logistics and procurement activities, including analyzing financial rules, procurement procedures, and logistics policies, identifying bottlenecks, and formulating recommendations.
  • Contribute to knowledge building and sharing by organizing, facilitating, and delivering training on Logistics and Procurement-related topics.
Required Experience

Relevant experience is defined as experience in supply chain management, logistics and asset management, procurement, or any other relevant field in national or international public or corporate organizations. Experience in the use of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, G-Suite, etc) and web-based management systems is required. Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired. Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desired.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with 0 years of relevant experience is required. Desired: A globally or nationally recognized professional certificate in logistics is desired.

Remuneration
Even though the level of the position is indicated as IICA-1, depending on the incumbent's personal situation (candidate with national ID or resident permit), a local fee scale (LICA-8) might be applied in determining the contractor's fee.
