Overview

Provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the effective delivery of GBV prevention and response interventions, contributing to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and well-being of women, girls, and adolescent girls.


Key Responsibilities
  • Strengthens integrated GBV programming in line with UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children (CCCs), Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for GBV in Emergencies, and national frameworks.
  • Promotes cross-sectoral integration of GBV risk mitigation across sectors such as health, education, WASH, and nutrition.
  • Supports gender mainstreaming efforts to address structural inequalities and harmful social norms.
  • Contributes to inter-agency coordination, partner capacity development, and evidence-based advocacy.
Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in Child Protection, Gender Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Development Programs, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Program Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Capacity Building, Policy Advocacy, Emergency Response, Partnership Management, Interagency Coordination, Gender Mainstreaming, or related fields is required.

Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First-Level University Degree) in Social Work, Development Studies, Psychology, Sociology, International Development, Human Rights, International Law, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.

Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is an asset.
