Overview
The intern will assist in the production of communication materials for the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, including presentations, reports, social media, multimedia, and web stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the production of material for NA web pages and social media
- Assist in maintenance of NA’s social media presence
- Assist with the collection and review of information for reports produced by the Office of the DDG – NA
- Assist with the preparation of public information products including PowerPoint presentations
- Gather information for use in media and general outreach
- Provide support at NA events, including taking photos
- Other tasks as needed
Required Experience
- University degree in communication, journalism, media or related field
- Knowledge of social media and multimedia production and dissemination techniques
- Knowledge of producing outreach and/or visibility-related stories and products
- Knowledge of public information and communication, including multimedia content creation, outreach activities, and promoting organizational viability
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office package
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team, with respect for and sensitivity to a multicultural environment
- Understanding of public relations, diplomacy, and politically sensitive issues would be an asset.
