Overview
The Staff Health Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining the physical and mental health of ICRC staff in the Damazine Sub Delegation Area of Responsibility, implementing the staff health strategy across seven domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out staff health briefings for all new ICRC staff.
- Assesses and supervises living conditions, promotes general hygiene standards.
- Evaluates medical structures and quality of services, identifies and monitors referral services.
- Provides advice and support to ICRC staff with health problems.
- Advises on medical needs during transportation and coordinates medical evacuations.
- Liaises with Staff Health Manager for repatriation and compiles guidelines for medical evacuations.
- Implements and supervises staff health policies and the ICRC HIV/AIDS program.
- Implements and follows up on ICRC MHPSS policy.
- Collects data on illnesses, accidents, and absenteeism for statistics.
- Reviews medical invoices for anonymization and approval of medical expenses.
- Reports to sub delegation management and provides feedback on staff health issues.
- Carries out defusing and creates peer support groups following critical incidents.
- Monitors national health risks, diseases outbreak, natural disasters, and national response.
Required Experience
- Three years' clinical experience.
- Experience in mental health and stress management.
- Experience in medical evacuation and transportation.
Qualifications
- Medical doctor or registered nurse.
- Knowledge of tropical health and public health.
- Computer proficiency, very good level of computer skills and Microsoft Office.
