Overview
The Stakeholder Engagement and Safeguards Specialist will support the Project Design Expert in providing information on stakeholder engagement, environmental and social safeguards documentation, and institutional analysis for a GEF-funded project.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational support for stakeholder engagement activities.
- Map and analyze project stakeholders.
- Support assessment of policy, legal, regulatory, and institutional landscape.
- Collect baseline information and identify stakeholder priorities.
- Support assessment of stakeholder capacities and needs.
- Prepare a matrix of potential social and environmental impacts and mitigation options.
- Review institutional capability for ESMP management and monitoring.
- Assist in gathering information for ESMP implementation understanding.
- Support drafting of the ESMP.
- Support preparation of the Grievance Redress Mechanism.
- Plan and organize field visits.
- Plan and facilitate workshops.
- Prepare workshop reports.
Required Experience
At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in marine and/or inland fisheries in Indonesia.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Fisheries, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Forestry, or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
