Overview

Supports the project manager in ensuring day-to-day delivery of project components, including construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure, and environmental and social impact. Identifies and anticipates problems with budget, plans, and timelines, recommending improvements. Conducts monitoring visits to field locations to ensure adherence to project activities and quality assurance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the project manager in ensuring day to day delivery of all REPAC project components (Construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure as well as the environmental and social impact of the project).
  • Identifies and anticipates problems or constraints with respect to budget, plans and timelines that may impede the timely delivery, quality and goals’ achievement; recommends improvement thereof, as needed.
  • Conducts frequent or ad-hoc monitoring visits to field locations and ensures that the process of project’s activities is fully adhere to and project quality is assured for the various components.
  • Reviews, enhances and/or develops a communication strategy for the project; leads the development of communication materials to increase community awareness and donor visibility; plans and organizes community and other stakeholders outreach meetings to manage their expectations.
  • Liaises with external factors including relevant PA line Ministries and departments.
  • Coordinates closely with relevant HQ Departments to ensure compliance with donor requirements, reporting and data consistency, and liaison with key stakeholders to maintain quality assurance across the project cycle.
  • Contributes to the projects’ management and planning to improve its deliverables, including tracking project’s results against targets, and brings deviation to the Manager’s attention.
  • Contributes to the identification of best practices and lesson learnt; identifies areas of improvement using UNRWA monitoring and evaluation tools and corporate reports.
  • Compiles data and draft reports to internal and external stakeholders, including progress and ad-hoc reports.
Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in programme management, project management, monitoring and evaluation, administration or related field. Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System is required. At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of citizenship is required.

Qualifications

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in project management, Engineering, Business Administration, social sciences, international relations, communications or other relevant disciplines.
