Overview

The role involves documenting FAO's work in Timor-Leste through film and photographs, focusing on drought anticipatory action interventions and best practices. The purpose is to highlight FAO's work and results, with a particular emphasis on beneficiaries.


Key Responsibilities
  • Document FAO’s work through film footage and photographs highlighting best practices, past results, current interventions of FAO’s drought anticipatory action.
  • Capture footages showcasing the progress achieved in drought anticipatory actions programme –such as scenarios where farmers are increasing their resilience to natural disasters through training courses and capacity-building activities in terms of livelihood diversification and building-back-better, among others;
  • Travel with FAO staff to selected municipalities to cover activities, interviews with beneficiaries, and follow the trainings/workshops organized by FAO;
  • Save and submit footages with audio files in a separate format agreed upon with the Communications team;
  • Save and submit to FAO Timor-Leste raw footages in high resolution as QuickTime files;
  • Present outputs to key FAO personnel and revise outputs as needed; and
  • Undertake other related responsibilities in ensuring that the target outputs are achieved.
  • Translate the subtitles for the video in English;
  • Clearly identify and specify the location in the video during filming provide context to audience;
  • Respect local customs and privacy of subjects;
  • The officer-in-charge of the video and photo production should liaise with OCC at the appropriate stages for distribution and publication of the video products, and to ensure workflow, quality and files delivered correspond to FAO Photo Library production standards.

Required Experience
  • At least three years of relevant experience in videography, photography, video production and/or post-production.
  • Demonstrated experience producing communication materials for organizations, development projects, media, NGOs or similar assignments.
Qualifications

A diploma, certificate or higher qualification in videography, photography, film production, media production, communications, journalism, multimedia, visual arts or a related field
