Overview

The consultant will provide specialized legal expertise in international and national nuclear law and related legal frameworks to support the IAEA's activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute specialized legal expertise in international and national nuclear law and related legal frameworks including legislative, regulatory and contractual aspects relevant to the safe, secure, and peaceful uses of nuclear technology.
  • Participate in IAEA missions and other activities addressing these frameworks.
  • Review draft and enacted legislation.
  • Contribute to awareness-raising missions, workshops and training courses, including through the delivery of lectures, case studies, and practical exercises designed to transfer legal knowledge and skills.
Required Experience

Minimum of ten years relevant experience, including several years at the international level and/or advising governmental officials on nuclear related matters.

Qualifications

Member of a national bar or equivalent.

Languages Required
Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another other UN official language (i.e. Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish and/or Russian) is an asset.

Remuneration
Remuneration ranges between €300 and €480 per day. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided.
