Overview

The Education Officer supports the implementation of the work plan and provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance for Digital Education projects within the Country Programme.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and update situation analysis and assessments on Digital Education issues.
  • Contribute to the development of Digital Education goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning.
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout programming processes.
  • Prepare documentation for programme review and approval.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to collect, analyze, and share implementation information.
  • Suggest solutions for routine programme implementation and report issues.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises and prepare reports.
  • Monitor and report on the use of Education programme resources.
  • Prepare draft inputs for programme/donor reporting.
  • Undertake field visits and surveys to assess progress.
  • Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners, and UN system partners.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
  • Draft communication and information materials for programme advocacy.
  • Participate in inter-agency meetings on programming.
  • Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
  • Support in identifying, capturing, synthesizing, and sharing lessons learned.
  • Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
  • Research, benchmark, and report on best practices for knowledge products and systems.
  • Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in digital education is required.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualifications

A university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.

Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
