Political Affairs intern

Overview

The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) is seeking qualified interns to assist with content management, research, drafting official documents, and supporting conferences and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing content management and development of disarmament stories through information posted on the Office's website and through social media channels.
• Document, media and internet research.
• Assistance in drafting and preparing official documents, summaries, talking points, speeches, remarks and web content.
• Assistance during conferences and meetings (including 1st Committee).
• Assistance in developing media products for web and social networking platforms.
• Other duties as required.

Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants to the United Nations Internship Programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (1) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (2) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
