Overview

Consultant to guide the Ministry of Education in defining steps to introduce Assistive Technology into Albania's education system for inclusive learning.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review Albanian education policy and legal framework and relevant international, EU and regional practice.
  • Consult UNICEF, the Ministry of Education, the Agency of Assurance of Quality in Pre-University Education, other ministries, schools, teachers, students, parents, local education offices, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop a roadmap with concrete steps and institutional arrangements for embedding AT in the education system.
  • Propose practical models for Assistive Technology Labs.
  • Prepare a costing framework to support planning, budgeting and future scale-up.
Required Experience

Minimum 5 years of expertise and experience in disability, assistive technology in education, ICT and AT innovation, related services and AT research. Minimum 5 years of experience in projects related to the inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in education.

Qualifications

Master's degree in human sciences, preferably education, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, or other humanities.

Experience in ICT/AT application development is an asset. Knowledge of the UN/UNICEF mandate and UN rules/procedures will be considered as an asset.
