Overview

Provide technical support and quality assurance for protection programmes, ensuring alignment with NRC strategies and humanitarian standards. Lead protection analysis and monitoring to inform programme adaptation and advocacy.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and coaching to protection staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of NRC’s Protection Core Competency strategy.
  • Provide technical oversight for protection programmes.
  • Lead protection monitoring and risk analysis.
  • Strengthen protection mainstreaming across NRC programmes.
  • Support the development of protection methodologies and tools.
  • Represent NRC in protection coordination mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contribute technical inputs to programme development and reporting.
  • Ensure protection programmes comply with policies and standards.
  • Support strategic development and growth of the Protection Core Competency.
  • Lead technical reviews of programme design and implementation.
  • Coordinate protection analysis and research.
  • Support identification of protection trends and opportunities.
  • Contribute technical expertise to proposal development.
  • Develop and facilitate capacity-strengthening initiatives.
  • Promote integration of protection principles.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in protection programming within humanitarian, development, or displacement contexts, including experience in a coordination or supervisory role. Demonstrated experience in protection programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams, including performance management, coaching, and capacity strengthening. Experience engaging with government institutions, UN agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and donor representatives. Proven experience in project cycle management, budgeting, grants management, and donor compliance. Experience working with data management systems and monitoring tools, including case management and programme tracking systems.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Rights, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations, Refugee and Migration Studies, Social Work, or another relevant field. A postgraduate qualification in a related discipline is an added advantage.
