Overview

Internship opportunity within the Office of the Legal Adviser to gain experience in international organisations and contribute to the OPCW mission.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare first drafts of memoranda and other communications on legal issues arising from CWC implementation.
  • Research rules of public international law related to CWC interpretation.
  • Prepare background notes on legal issues concerning individual States.
  • Support meeting preparation for States Parties and prepare records.
  • Research administrative law matters, including ILOAT jurisprudence.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Enrolled in and completed at least one year of a law degree programme, or in a graduate school programme, or graduated in law within a year prior to internship commencement. Must be a citizen of an OPCW Member State.
  • Desirable: Graduated from an undergraduate law degree or completed at least one year of a postgraduate law degree.

Languages Required
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Languages Preferred
A good working knowledge of another OPCW official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
