Overview
The Child Protection Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the DK Media child protection project, leading the development of context-sensitive strategies and providing technical expertise in child protection programme design, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan and monitor DK Media project activities.
- Coordinate with other Program Managers to ensure quality of sectoral interventions.
- Ensure quality implementation of child protection prevention interventions.
- Ensure quality implementation of child protection case management.
- Ensure implementation of Best Interests Procedures and alternative care arrangements for UASC.
- Ensure high-quality project activity narrative and financial reports are delivered timely.
- Collaborate to develop project related operational tools and training modules.
- Lead on monthly, quarterly and annual donor reporting.
- Regularly update the Project Management Tools (PMT).
- Lead in the Project Management Meeting (PMM).
- Representation of DRC and active participation in sectoral and relevant sub sectors/working groups.
- Oversee knowledge sharing across teams.
- Ensure child safeguarding principles are integrated across all project activities.
- Monitor and develop relevant accountability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular capacity assessments of local partners.
- Coordinate partner performance review meetings.
- Provide technical support and guidance on CP programme implementation.
- Monitor partner performance.
- Lead and manage Project staff members.
- Promote respectful and positive working relationships.
- Lead and support recruitment processes.
- Promote professional development by identifying training and capacity building opportunities.
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing and delivering child protection programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities. At least 3 years’ experience with people management and at least 2 years of experience as a Project Manager. Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee context in Uganda, and West Nile in particular. Strong understanding of global and national child protection standards and approaches. Demonstrated experience in CP case management. Experience supporting community-based CP mechanisms. Very good understanding of both global and national protection standards and approaches. Experience designing technical components of child protection programs. Experience in translation/localization is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law, Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or relevant fields. Master's Degree in Law, Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or relevant fields (Desirable).
