Overview

The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst will strengthen the accountability, transparency, and effectiveness of the NHF by conducting quality monitoring, evidence-based reporting, and partner capacity assessments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and updating of the NHF programmatic monitoring plan.
  • Conduct regular and systematic monitoring of NHF-funded projects.
  • Prepare monitoring reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure timely communication of key findings and concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity strengthening support to NHF partners.
  • Support the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of NHF-related data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of project monitoring records.
  • Contribute to the preparation of NHF annual reports and knowledge management materials.
  • Support data analysis for NHF allocation planning and decision-making.
  • Support the design and implementation of NHF partners' technical capacity strengthening initiatives.
  • Support strategic and technical reviews of NHF projects.
  • Support the quality assurance of NHF project narrative reports.
  • Support review and clearance of requests for Due Diligence.
  • Conduct programmatic internal capacity assessments (ICAs) of NGOs.
  • Support the design and implementation of national NGO capacity strengthening initiatives.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and participation in field missions.
Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in emergency humanitarian programming, crisis/emergency relief management or other related areas, preferably with a UN organization or an NGO is required. Experience in a humanitarian context within the UN Common system or in a comparable international organization is required. Experience in programmatic monitoring and results reporting on donor-funded projects is desirable. Experience in data management, analysis, and report writing skills, with experience in proposal development and review and knowledge of logical frameworks, workplans, and monitoring plans is desirable. Experience in production and knowledge management of donor-funded information products is desirable. Experience with Pooled Funds (NHF and/or CERF) either directly or as a partner is desirable. Experience in working in the BAY States (Borno/Adamawa/Yobe) is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) preferably in Statistics, Political or Social Science, Development Studies, International Studies, Public Administration, or other relevant science is required. A relevant first-level university degree in the above fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
