Overview
The Procurement Specialist will ensure timely, efficient, and effective procurement of goods and services in compliance with FAO Rules and Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the Annual Procurement Plan.
- Prepare and manage procurement processes, including drafting tender documents and supporting bid evaluations.
- Conduct cost and price analyses and prepare evaluation reports.
- Prepare and administer Purchase Orders, Letters of Agreement, service contracts, framework agreements, and related amendments.
- Support the implementation and administration of procurement contracts.
- Liaise with FAO Headquarters, Regional and Subregional Offices, suppliers, and programme personnel on procurement matters.
- Monitor supplier performance and coordinate the resolution of procurement and delivery issues.
- Support supplier management activities.
- Monitor order status and follow up on deliveries.
- Support procurement-related financial processes.
- Prepare documentation and presentations for the Local Procurement Committee.
- Provide administrative support for customs clearance procedures.
- Review and calculate liquidated damages for delayed delivery.
- Maintain complete and accurate procurement records, databases, filing systems and contractual documentation.
- Contribute to procurement process improvement initiatives.
Required Experience
3 years of relevant experience in project/programme support, financial and administrative assistance to projects. Experience working in UN system is an asset.
Qualifications
University degree in business administration, management planning or other related fields.
