Overview
The Finance Associate is responsible for providing high-quality, accurate, and consistent financial services for the Operations Centre and projects in Peru, in compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate documentation for project financial execution, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
- Prepare and record accounting adjustments through General Ledger Entries (GJLEs).
- Support the update of administrative budget control and monitoring.
- Manage and track project contracts, ensuring proper execution and compliance.
- Manage payments related to assigned contracts.
- Support the review, monitoring, and control of financial guarantees.
- Prepare and analyze purchase order tracking reports.
- Support the review and monitoring of petty cash and operational advances.
- Manage the minor purchase process.
- Support project financial closure, including account reconciliation, budget execution control, financial statement preparation, and fund return management.
- Administer and update the digital project repository.
- Support project event organization, including travel management and administrative requirements.
Required Experience
- Required: 2 to 6 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or administration (depending on academic qualifications). Experience using ERP systems (preferably OU ERP). Experience in administrative expense management and regulatory compliance.
- Desired: Experience in the UN system or international organizations. Knowledge of UNOPS financial rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Required: Secondary education (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Desired: Certification in Finance or Accounting. A university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Finance, Administration, Accounting, or related fields, with 2 years of experience OR Technical degree with 3 years of experience.
