Overview
Support WFP’s effective implementation of communication activities to maintain and enhance WFP’s visibility and reputation in the Pacific Island Countries and Territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to facilitate the planning, development, and execution of communication campaigns.
- Assist in creating communication materials for campaigns and awareness initiatives.
- Contribute to WFP communication and donor visibility efforts by capturing photos and videos, gathering stories, and drafting content.
- Support the social media plan by developing social media content and utilizing platforms.
- Contribute to research, collect, and regularly update a multimedia database.
- Serve as an information focal point and support media coverage of events.
- Organize and execute special events.
- Monitor traditional and social media and report relevant information.
- Distribute and promote communications guidelines for WFP staff.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience
At least seven (7) years of professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
Qualifications
A post-secondary certificate in a relevant field is required. A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies or equivalent in a related discipline, supplemented by relevant work experience, professional training, or specialized courses, is highly desirable and considered an asset.
