Overview
This internship focuses on legal research and assistance within the Judicial Support and Cooperation Section of the IIIM, supporting investigations and prosecutions of serious international crimes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research on domestic and international criminal law, human rights, and public international law.
- Assisting Legal Officers in drafting or reviewing legal documents.
- Monitoring judicial proceedings and legislative developments relevant to the IIIM's work.
- Mapping legislative frameworks relevant to the JSCS.
- Facilitating JSCS contributions to other IIIM Sections.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Field of study closely related to law, international relations, human rights, political affairs, or a related area is required.
