Overview

The role involves conducting an assessment of closed projects under UNEP's Special Programme to identify what has worked well and areas for improvement, with findings feeding into future work and lessons learned.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct the data collection in selected countries
  • Conduct the analysis based on the data collected
  • Formulate findings, conclusions and recommendations
  • Submit Assessment reports (5 deliverables are requested)
Required Experience

At least five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation with a proven record in evaluating and/or assessing large regional or global programmes. Proven experience in evaluating projects/programmes of UN or development agencies (preferably UNEP) is an advantage. A broad understanding of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) and in particular of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and Minamata Convention as well as of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management /Global Framework on Chemicals.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Management, Social Sciences, Economics, Environment, Development, Law, Natural Sciences or any other related field. A bachelor’s degree could be taken in lieu of master’s degree provided the selected candidate has 7 years of relevant experience.
