Overview

Coordinate and support the implementation of IOM's activities under the "Building Climate Resilient Cities and Communities in the Republic of Azerbaijan" project, ensuring compliance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate project implementation, including travel to project sites.
  • Monitor activity implementation and analyse implementation issues.
  • Research, compile, analyse and present information/data on relevant developments.
  • Monitor budget expenditures and maintain project budget records.
  • Coordinate financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project.
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical arrangements for project equipment and materials.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct capacity building workshops.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and reports.
  • Identify and document good practices and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate project knowledge management activities.
  • Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff.
  • Monitor the work of suppliers and implementing partners.
Required Experience
  • Experience in coordinating or supporting the implementation of development, climate adaptation, environmental sustainability, or resilience-building projects.
  • Experience coordinating operational, logistical or administrative aspects of project activities, including follow-up with suppliers, contractors and implementing partners.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations.
  • Experience in working with communities or migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Climate Change studies, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • High school diploma with seven years of relevant professional experience.
