Overview
The Senior Programme Associate (WASH expert) will support the institutionalization and sustainability of an optimized national school meals model through strengthened systems, infrastructure, including complementary interventions in health, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The role focuses on enhancing school environments by integrating WASH infrastructure and services with school feeding operations.
Tasks Summary
- Provide policy support, advocacy, and direct technical assistance for WASH interventions in schools.
- Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health and the WFP-supported School Nutrition Unit within the Ministry of Education and Science.
- Support the integration of WASH infrastructure and services with school feeding operations.
- Promote healthy behaviours among students and communities related to WASH.
- Strengthen the capacity of schools and local authorities for sustainable WASH management.
- Implement the project “Establishment of a Sustainable Environment for Enhancing Health and Nutrition in Schools through the Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic (2025–2028)”.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in implementing WASH interventions within school feeding programmes.
- Experience in capacity strengthening and system development for sustainable WASH management.
