Overview

Supports the development of strategic communications documents and policy papers, including the annual communications strategy and integrated communications plans. Reinforces integrated communications planning between NATO HQ and NATO Military Authorities.


Tasks Summary
  • Support the development, review and update of strategic communications input to NATO’s policy documents
  • Develop relevant strategic communications frameworks, plans and guidance
  • Coordinate OSC support to the strategic communications capability development of Allies and partners
  • Establish and maintain close working relations with NATO civilian and military chain of command and national Delegations
  • Identify potential key stakeholders and maintain regular contacts with other international organisations
  • Advise the Spokesperson/Director on strategic communications matters
  • Advise NATO offices, military commands and operations on strategic communications activities
  • Brief NATO bodies and external entities on strategic communications policies
  • Support strategic communications capacity building efforts with Allies and partners
  • Initiate research and collection of data for knowledge management systems
  • Build and maintain knowledge of NATO-related issues impacting strategic communications
  • Ensure cross-sectional and office collaboration
  • Share knowledge on strategic communications-related issues
  • Represent OSC in meetings with external stakeholders
  • Present NATO strategic communications to visiting groups, events, and training courses

Experience Requirements
  • At least 3 years’ experience in policy-making functions and/or strategic communications
  • Previous experience working with multiple and diverse stakeholders

Qualification Requirements

• University degree from an institute of recognised standing or equivalent qualification in communications, international relations or related field

Other Details

Languages Required: • V (“Advanced”) in one of NATO’s official languages (English/French); I (“Beginner”) in the other

Languages Preferred: • Strong English writing and oral presentation skills

Remuneration: • 6,713.06 Euro (EUR) Monthly
