Overview
Support the financial management of activities under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project in the assigned refugee settlement, ensuring compliance with World Bank requirements, Ministry guidelines, and DRC financial procedures.
Tasks Summary
- Maintain accurate financial records for project expenditures
- Prepare and submit financial reports
- Support budget preparation and expenditure monitoring
- Ensure payments are authorised, documented, and recorded
- Track and verify expenditures for various project activities
- Maintain orderly and auditable filing systems
- Support external and internal audits
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and donor regulations
- Collaborate with project teams to verify financial documentation
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and cash requests
- Ensure accurate cost allocation
- Support accountability requirements
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting for donor funded projects
- Demonstrable experience working with international donor requirements, preferably World Bank or other multilateral financing institutions
- Experience managing financial reporting for field-based operations, ideally in humanitarian or refugee hosting districts
- Strong knowledge of budget monitoring, reconciliations and financial control systems
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable documentation
- Experience supporting audits and following up on audit recommendations
- Familiarity with procurement documentation, internal controls and compliance frameworks
- Experience working with project teams, government partners and field-based staff
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
- Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is an added advantage
