Tasks Summary

The Körperbehinderten-Verein Stuttgart e.V. aims to enable people with disabilities to lead a self-determined life and participate in society. KBV Stuttgart provides various outpatient services as well as a day care center for adults with complex disabilities and high care needs. Its main areas of focus include leisure activities, family support services and services in people's own homes. Your tasks as a volunteer: - Organization and implementation of leisure activities such as games, handicrafts or excursions - Support with basic care, e.g. serving meals or helping with dressing, support with household tasks such as laundry and cleaning communal areas - Communication and promotion of social contacts within and outside the shared flat - Participation in team meetings and internal training courses Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Female volunteers will be provided with a dorm room in a women's dorm or a shared flat. Male volunteers will be sharing a flat with other young people. You will receive a contribution to a year pass for local transportation in Germany. Furthermore, you will be given an allowance as well as additional money for food in accordance with the program guidelines. Training during the activity You will be participating in two seminars by the national agency (one week about 6 weeks after arrival, another halfway through the program). Additionally, your hosting organisation will provide you with any training needed for your daily tasks during the service. Participant profile If you are happy to participate in personal care activities and are between 18 and 30 years old, this opportunity is for you! :) A basic level of German (minimum of A2) is required.
