Contribute to the development, maintenance, and delivery of terminology products and services, ensuring accuracy and consistency of Arabic entries in the FAO Terminology Portal and NOCS database.

Tasks Summary

• Add, revise, proofread, and validate Arabic entries in the FAO Terminology Portal.
• Conduct linguistic and terminological research using authoritative sources.
• Ensure terminological integrity and scientific accuracy of Arabic technical terms.
• Review and validate definitions and contextual remarks for Arabic terms.
• Respond to terminology-related queries from users.
• Maintain and update Arabic-language content of the NOCS database.

Experience Requirements

For Consultants: Advanced university degree in linguistics, translation, terminology or a related field. Consultants with a bachelor's degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in linguistics, translation, terminology or a related field; or a university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in linguistics, translation, terminology or a related field with two additional years of relevant professional experience.
