Overview

Support the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) in facilitating interministerial coordination and effective communication to engage relevant stakeholders, aiming to strengthen the country’s efforts to mitigate short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs).

Tasks Summary

• Support the development of specific outputs for the CCAC project “Guatemala - Develop a national SLCP plan to mainstream SLCP mitigation into existing policy and methane roadmap”
• Ensure participation and support of government institutions related to air quality to implement the roadmap
• Contribute to strengthening the capacity of government institutions to develop and implement SLCP mitigation strategies
• Propose strategies to integrate SLCP mitigation actions into relevant national processes
• Identify national and international funding opportunities to implement the roadmap
• Recommend actions to raise national awareness about SLCPs
• Ensure Guatemala remains an active CCAC partner
• Produce activity reports on support provided to MARN
• Produce an analysis on the current institutional arrangement and proposal for coordination mechanisms
• Produce a report containing capacity building activities

• Experience in facilitating interministerial coordination and effective communication
• Experience engaging relevant stakeholders
• Experience in strengthening efforts to mitigate short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs)
• Experience coordinating and supporting the development of specific outputs within a project framework
• Experience overseeing deliverables to ensure they meet requirements
• Experience promoting collaboration across sectors like air quality, health, and waste
• Experience overseeing a methane roadmap
• Experience supporting initiatives to strengthen air quality regulations
