Overview
The World Bank seeks an Energy Specialist to support energy programs in Lebanon, focusing on electricity network development, solar PV plants, and sector reforms. The role also involves providing technical support to other Mashreq countries.
Tasks Summary
- Support the development and implementation of World Bank energy programs in Lebanon
- Conduct research for operational products and analytical reports
- Provide technical support to MENAAP energy teams in other Mashreq countries
- Coordinate with development partners and liaise with government and private sector
- Participate in cross-sectoral teams for country engagement products
Experience Requirements
- At least five years of relevant experience in the energy sector
- Experience in energy sector development, including renewable and clean energy, energy policy, utility reforms, electricity transmission and distribution, and grid modernization
- Experience working with ministry of energy or electricity utility is a plus
- Previous experience with the World Bank Group or other international financial institutions would be a plus
Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree in engineering, energy planning/economics, business administration, finance or equivalent areas relevant for energy sector development
