Overview
This role involves analyzing accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements for the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. The position is located in New York.
Tasks Summary
- Analyze complex accounting transactions related to pension contributions and benefits
- Review and reconcile clearing accounts
- Audit accounting transactions for correctness
- Prepare worksheets and analyze accounts
- Assist in preparing financial statements
- Provide guidance and training on transaction processing and systems
- Supervise general service staff when required
- Draft memoranda and respond to queries
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and report preparation
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance
- Minimum of three (3) years of financial or operational work experience in a post-employment benefit scheme
- Experience in Integrated Pension Administration System (IPAS) or similar ERP system is desirable
- Experience in supervising staff or work of others is desirable
- Experience working with the UN common system or other comparable international organizations is desirable
- Knowledge of UNJSPF rules related to pension contributions is desirable
- One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
