Expoaccion is a NGO that was born in Gijón in 2006 as a social initiative to help children and young people, later in 2015 it expanded its purposes and scope to become a Social Action and International Cooperation Organization. Our mission is to achieve the full social inclusion of people at risk of social exclusion paying special attention to children, adolescents and families, offering quality support programs, personalized support and effective resources to different groups or areas of intervention favoring social participation and community development as citizens in full rights in the community through comprehensive social care. We carry out actions of awareness and development cooperation, promotion of volunteering through social action oriented in quality and confidence in individual and social change. Our social action is oriented under the values of universality, welcome, humanity, justice, inclusion, respect, equality, freedom, commitment, volunteering and awareness. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Expoacción offers an apartment for hosting volunteers in Gijón. This apartment has single rooms with a single bed, bedside table, wardrobe and bedding, a full bathroom to share with the other tenants, a shared kitchen with table and chairs, refrigerator, oven, microwave and cooking utensils, a living room with kitchenette, sofas, computer desk and table. Training during the activity Expoacción, in collaboration with the Spanish national agency, will offer two training opportunities with other volunteers in Spain. In addition, it will offer Spanish classes to volunteers to facilitate their integration into the program and enhance their participation. Participant profile We are looking for a person committed to people with fewer opportunities who has autonomy and initiative. With high communication skills and initiative to improve them as teamwork, flexibility and willingness to learn.
