Overview
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support on Disaster Risk Reduction and Anticipatory Action (DRR and AA) within the Near East and North Africa region. Support the integration of DRR and AA into strategies and work plans, and assist country offices in designing and implementing initiatives.
Tasks Summary
- Support integration of DRR and AA within RP4 strategy and work plans
- Provide technical guidance to countries for DRR and AA initiatives
- Support implementation of context-specific DRR and AA systems
- Produce technical reports
- Identify, analyze, and share good practices
- Provide inputs to projects’ development and resource mobilization
- Develop DRR and AA capacity building strategy
- Develop training materials and roll-out training program
- Contribute to strengthening capacities of FAO teams, governments, institutions, and partners
- Provide technical guidance for BLRS project activities
- Coordinate planning and lead implementation of regional activities for Global AA project
- Document and share learning from projects
- Liaise and coordinate with regional stakeholders
- Coordinate FAO contributions to interagency products
Experience Requirements
Experience in Disaster Risk Reduction and Anticipatory Action (DRR and AA).
