Overview

Supports the development and implementation of Defence Capacity Building (DCB) packages and other relevant capacity building activities for partners. The role involves project management within selected DCB packages funded by the DCB Trust Fund.

Tasks Summary

• Support day-to-day management of DCB packages and associated projects
• Design, plan, implement, manage, monitor and coordinate projects to build capacities of selected partners
• Draft project proposals, assessments and reports
• Identify risks and undertake contingency planning
• Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure resourcing and implementation of projects
• Monitor and evaluate progress
• Plan and execute activities to build capacities of selected partners
• Manage other projects as directed
• Develop and implement processes, procedures and tools for project management within DCB
• Plan, manage and monitor budgets for projects
• Ensure expenditure of allocated funds is in line with NATO’s policies and objectives
• Act as a focal point for assigned thematic areas relevant to capacity building work for partners
• Implement and maintain a knowledge management system for DCB packages and associated projects

Experience Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in the field of defence and security
• At least 2 years’ experience with programme or project management
• Very good understanding of institution and capacity building processes
• Knowledge and experience in applying project management methods and tools
• Political awareness and good understanding of NATO partnerships

Qualification Requirements

• University degree or equivalent qualification from an institute of recognised standing in a relevant discipline

Other Details

Languages Required: English/French: V (“Advanced”) in one and I (“Beginner”) in the other

Languages Preferred: Higher level of NATO’s second official language

Remuneration: 6,713.06 Euro (EUR) Monthly
