Overview

The Director leads the NATO-Wide Coordination Office to enhance coherence and institutional alignment across NATO and its affiliated organizations. The role serves as a central point of coordination between NATO Headquarters and the governance structures of NATO Procurement, Logistics or Service Organisations.


Tasks Summary
  • Lead the NATO-Wide Coordination Office and provide strategic leadership and oversight for activities related to the secretariats of Agency Supervisory Boards of NCIO and NSPO and the BoD of DIANA.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between NATO Headquarters and the governance, and executive structures of the NPLSOs.
  • Reinforce institutional governance frameworks and facilitate structured engagement between the International Staff (IS) and agency governance and executive management.
  • Represent the Secretary General’s Liaison Officer (SGLO) and ensure broader coordination on their behalf.
  • Establish and communicate a clear strategic vision for NATO-wide coordination.
  • Lead the establishment and development of the Office, including its operational processes, team structure, and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of institutional policies that enhance NATO’s coherence.
  • Advise senior leadership on coordination strategies.
  • Serve as the principal interface between NATO IS and the NCIO, NSPO, DIANA, and potentially other affiliated bodies’ governance boards.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with Chairs of governance bodies, Executive Management of agencies, agency board secretariats and senior IS staff.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication to support informed decision-making and governance oversight.
  • Oversee the establishment and evolution of the NATO-Wide Coordination Office as a strategic project.
  • Drive initiatives to improve coherent governance processes, agency alignment, and liaison functions.
  • Identify and manage risks and ensure delivery of expected outcomes.

Experience Requirements
  • At least 15 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior management roles.
  • Strong understanding of NATO’s structure, governance processes, and relationships with affiliated agencies and boards.
  • Proven experience in high-level coordination roles and in navigating complex institutional environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous experience supporting international governance bodies or executive-level inter-agency coordination (desirable).
  • Experience in institutional reform and change management in multilateral environments (desirable).
  • Knowledge of agency or board-level dynamics within NATO or similar international institutions (desirable).

Qualification Requirements

• University degree from an institute of recognised standing.

Other Details

Languages Required: • English/French: V (“Advanced”) in one; III (“Intermediate”) in the other.

Work Modality: • May be required to travel occasionally and work beyond standard office hours when required.

Remuneration: • 13,206.07 Euro (EUR) Monthly
