Fundación para la Atención Integral del Menor Zaragoza, Spain Volunteer opportunity: Open Space: a Space for Socio-educational and Therapeutic Care
The project "Open Space" aims to provide comprehensive socio-educational support to adolescents and young people residing in Zaragoza who are participating in some of the intervention projects of the Fundación para la Atención Integral del Menor (FAIM). This population faces various situations of social vulnerability stemming from their current circumstances. These situations are diverse: family and school conflicts, difficulties in accessing the labor market, and mental health issues. The project will primarily focus on providing support to FAIM professionals working with these individuals, as well as accompanying these individuals in the intervention processes that professionals, families, and young people voluntarily agree to participate in. More information and apply link at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X-1t-4euypvnB-rsNELrVHt27idB5xcx/view?usp=sharing Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The accommodation provided by FAIM as a Hosting Organization is located on the third floor of the organization's building. On the lower floors, there are workspaces and offices, as well as intervention areas for adolescents and young people. The third floor is a living space that includes a shared kitchen-dining room, a shared TV room, several bedrooms, two shared toilets, and two shared showers. The bedrooms are single occupancy. Some of them are designated for volunteers, while others are reserved for individuals participating in one of FAIM's intervention programs. Training during the activity FAIM will provide, as part of the volunteer program, specific training for the development of the tasks assigned to the volunteers, related to the intervention with the beneficiaries and their support, as well as on FAIM's working methods. Regarding language learning, it is reminded that a good knowledge of the Spanish language is necessary, as the people you will be working with often speak only this language. If the volunteer considers it necessary to strengthen their language skills, they should use the Online Language Platform according to the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program guide. Participant profile People with a strong motivation for volunteering and working with young populations who are immersed in situations of social vulnerability. To carry out any activity with this population, high levels of empathy, patience, and humility are necessary. Previous experience and/or training, motivation to learn, and a collective perspective will be positively valued: the ability to work in a team, adherence to the organization's rules and procedures, and the ability to integrate into a project. It is not expected that volunteers will solve any of these individuals' problems. Often, not even collective efforts achieve this. Interested applicants must complete a form.
