Overview
The Field Engineer will act as the primary technical authority at the project site, ensuring the timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure outputs for FAO projects.
Tasks Summary
- Follow up on-site work activities and endorse workers' attendance sheets
- Process Inspection Requests and maintain records
- Check and inspect work activities and materials, providing technical support
- Coordinate with contractor's project manager on proper work execution
- Ensure construction works comply with drawings and specifications
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and project closure reports
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure site safety
- Review contractor's payment applications and check quantities
- Prepare/confirm BoQs and site implementation/material delivery plans
- Assess standards of delivered materials
- Ensure timely progress of works
- Ensure application of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
- Visit project sites to assess structures and identify rehabilitation needs
- Prepare detailed scope of work for rehabilitation
- Develop architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings
- Prepare detailed bill of quantities (BOQ)
- Conduct market analysis and provide cost estimates
- Consult with stakeholders and community on land documents
Experience Requirements
- Three years of relevant experience in construction management, site engineering, and provision of engineering advisory services, or related roles
- Work experience in more than one location
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or relevant field
