Overview
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design, technical review, and supervision of civil and structural works for FAO projects. The role ensures compliance with international engineering standards and safety regulations.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct field assessments of target sites to evaluate structural, architectural, and MEP conditions.
- Develop detailed technical designs, drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents.
- Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and implementation timelines.
- Provide technical expertise for tender processes, including bid evaluation.
- Verify the quality and quantity of delivered materials and workmanship.
- Supervise on-site construction and rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor daily site operations and review worker attendance.
- Ensure technical inputs and cost estimates are integrated into project proposals and budgets.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure technical files meet standardized requirements.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly progress reports, and a final project handover report.
Experience Requirements
- Three years of relevant experience in construction management, site engineering, and provision of engineering advisory services, or related roles.
- Work experience in more than one location.
- Extent and relevance of experience in Construction Engineering.
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant field
