CENTRO DI SERVIZIO PER IL VOLONTARIATO BRESCIA - ETS FONDAZIONE DI PARTECIPAZIONE CASA SERENA - Ente del Terzo Settore Volunteer opportunity: ESC@CASA SERENA: Educare alla Solidarietà
Thanks to the European Solidarity Corps program, Fondazione Casa Serena welcomes young European volunteers to become an active part of our daily educational work. Volunteers will be fully integrated into our team and will have the chance to contribute with their ideas, energy, and intercultural perspective. You will be involved in a variety of activities, such as: - the Youth Center (CAG), a lively space where children and teenagers can meet, learn, and grow together supported by educators; - the Early Childhood Project “Tana dei Cuccioli”, supporting the educational team with creative and playful activities for children; - new workshops and community projects promoted by the Foundation and open to all citizens. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will be hosted in shared housing that ensures comfort, safety and daily opportunities for intercultural exchange. From Monday to Friday, they will share lunch and afternoon snacks with the educational team and children, while for other meals they can cook independently and join community dinners or intercultural cooking activities. Project activities take place mainly in Montichiari, with bicycles and local buses available for daily mobility. A direct bus connects Montichiari to Brescia in about 30 minutes. Training during the activity Each volunteer will be supported by a tutor for daily integration and a mentor for personal and learning development. Regular meetings, reflection sessions and Youthpass will help track competences. Casa Serena uses active listening, mediation and team support in case of difficulties. Volunteers will follow an initial introduction on the Foundation and local context, and throughout the project they will take part in immersive observation and thematic training on child development, educational skills and inclusive methods Participant profile We are looking for a volunteer who demonstrates authentic and reflective personal motivation, and who shares the values of the project, including solidarity, empathy, responsibility, and community development. The ideal participant is collaborative, adaptable, and open to working in a dynamic educational and social environment. Previous experience or interest in social, educational, or cultural activities (formal or informal) is valued but not mandatory. A basic knowledge of Italian is required, as Montichiari is a small town where the local language plays a key role in daily life. Language skills will be supported and strengthened through courses offered during the volunteering period, helping the volunteer integrate into the organization and the local community. Interviews and selection will take place in January — we’re looking forward to meeting you!
