Overview
The Refugee Resettlement intern will support Caseworkers and refugee clients by connecting them to services and assisting with ongoing projects within the Resettlement Department.
Tasks Summary
- Assist Caseworkers with airport pickups for newly arriving refugee families
- Assist with setting up apartments for arriving families, including shopping
- Take clients to the bank
- Help clients enroll in services, in-person or remotely
- Accompany clients on public transit trips to help them learn routes
- Develop guides and learning materials for client use
- Organize long-term projects or resources
- Provide office support including preparing case files, writing emails, maintaining supplies, and welcoming guests
Experience Requirements
- 1+ years related work or volunteer experience with a non-profit strongly preferred
- A strong interest in working with a diverse, low-income population is required
Qualification Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s program focused on Education, International Relations/Development, Social Work, or related field
