Overview

Assist with career development services for refugee clients interested in industry recognized certifications and deliver workforce preparation activities.

Tasks Summary

• Work individually with clients on resume review, job searching, networking, and interview preparation
• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring or technical assistance to participants with limited English proficiency
• Support staff with data entry, filing, and database quality assurance
• Help with post-class follow-ups
• Conduct outreach to eligible clients
• Assist participants with college and FAFSA applications
• Develop guides and resources in multiple professional fields
• Prepare curriculums
• Assist training staff with other tasks as assigned

Experience Requirements

• Volunteer experience with a non-profit preferred
• Show a strong interest in working with a diverse, low-income population

Qualification Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focused on Education, International Relations/Development, Social Work, or related field
• Possess excellent organization skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with empathy and effective collaboration
• Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs

Languages Required: English fluency required

Languages Preferred: Language skills (such as Farsi/Dari, Kiswahili, Arabic, Burmese or Russian) a plus

Work Modality: in-person at the San Diego office or remote
