Overview

Lead the NRC USA office in Washington DC, amplifying humanitarian impact and managing operations in compliance with non-profit regulations. Represent NRC at senior levels with stakeholders and lead fundraising efforts.


Tasks Summary
  • Carry out duties assigned by the NRC USA Board of Directors
  • Ensure efficient human and financial resource management, and office management
  • Ensure compliance with national, state, and city rules and regulations
  • Develop and implement strategy, workplans, and budgets
  • Line manage NRC USA staff, including recruitment, induction, development, and performance management
  • Foster an inclusive work environment and promote collaboration
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team culture
  • Maintain and increase predictable and flexible funding for NRC’s humanitarian response
  • Network and advocate for improved financing conditions
  • Maintain and build institutional partnerships with US government entities
  • Provide expertise on US fundraising, donor rules, and regulations
  • Present NRC in fundraising with corporate partners, foundations, and private individuals
  • Ensure fundraising processes comply with US legal requirements
  • Position NRC in the humanitarian community through representation and engagement
  • Promote humanitarian policy and principles with US stakeholders
  • Maintain and build relations with US government actors, NGOs, and philanthropic sectors
  • Follow humanitarian policy and debates, and inform NRC about the US context
  • Contribute to NRC’s global advocacy work
  • Support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies
  • Advise management on the strategic direction of NRC USA
  • Advise, facilitate, and support NRC representatives in their engagement with US stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of NRC’s global strategies
  • Ensure effective accountability, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems
  • Comply with NRC policies, guidance, and procedures

Experience Requirements
  • At least 10 years of progressively senior leadership experience
  • Experience from the humanitarian or development sector
  • Documented career progression due to strong leadership and management skills

Qualification Requirements

Master’s degree or above in social science, politics, law, economics or other relevant field
