Overview

Responsible for facilitating, leading, and ensuring the quality of the INGO Forum’s work in Cameroon, keeping it relevant to members and aligned with context. Oversees INGO engagement, elevates operational concerns into strategic decision-making, and represents the Forum on regional and global platforms.


Tasks Summary
  • Ensure compliance with CHINGO and donor policies and procedures
  • Facilitate collaboration between member INGOs, LNGOs, the UN system, and Government Officials
  • Enable sharing of information and analysis for effective decision-making
  • Represent INGO interests in external meetings and planning efforts nationally and globally
  • Strategically guide and encourage common advocacy and policy engagement
  • Manage the Secretariat team and office operations in Yaounde
  • Provide strategic and day-to-day management of the permanent office
  • Encourage delegation, accountability, and teamwork
  • Ensure development and compliance with office operating procedures
  • Manage budgeting, budget management, and accountability
  • Support staff and advocate for staff well-being
  • Appreciate political necessity and delicate policy issues in humanitarian access and principles

Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a conflict or post-conflict setting with an INGO in a coordination or senior management role (e.g. Country Director or similar levels)
  • Experience of working in complex humanitarian situations and complex contexts is preferred
  • Proven high profile management, coordination and advocacy experience in humanitarian context
  • Documented skills in developing proposals, budgets and reports
  • Strong advocacy experience in conflict-affected countries
  • Demonstrated knowledge of humanitarian architecture, the UN system (HCT, ISWG, Clusters), and understanding of the Humanitarian reset and the Accelerated Transition
  • Familiarity with HDP Nexus contexts, Durable Solutions, and Localization
  • Knowledge of international humanitarian law and humanitarian reform
  • Strong understanding of conflict sensitivity and protection
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the Cameroon context or previous experience working in Cameroon or West Africa/Sahel region
  • Experience in administration and coordination of coalition or secretariat functions a plus

Qualification Requirements

• Academic qualifications in international relations, political science, development or other relevant field

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal

Contract Duration: • 12 months with possibility of extension

Remuneration: • grade 11 on NRC’s salary scale
