Overview

The intern will support the Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) team in community health programming, with a focus on ethnic communities, particularly the Hmong population. The role will contribute to UNICEF’s SBC work across health, immunization, child marriage prevention, and parenting for adolescents.

Tasks Summary

• Support coordination with partners to strengthen community engagement efforts in ethnic communities on immunization and prevention of child marriage
• Draft Lao-language communication materials promoting positive parenting, vaccine confidence, and healthy behaviours
• Liaise with UNICEF programme sections to collect information, stories, and visual content
• Assist with planning, logistics, and preparation of materials for community outreach and engagement activities
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

Qualification Requirements

Undertaking a degree or recent graduate in a relevant area, e.g., Communications, International Relations, Public Relations, Public Health, Development and Planning, or other related field, with excellent academic performance.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English AND Laotian (Mandatory)

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of ethnic minority language(s) would be advantageous.

Contract Duration: 6 months
