Overview
Provide policy recommendations and analytical contributions for a project assessing value addition and diversification opportunities in Critical Energy Transition Minerals (CETMs) value chains in Madagascar, Namibia, and Zambia.
Tasks Summary
- Formulate policy recommendations for target governments to enhance value addition, promote economic diversification, attract investments, and strengthen regulatory frameworks.
- Support the drafting of three national reports focusing on value addition and economic diversification opportunities within and outside CETM value chains.
- Contribute approximately 15% (approximately 4,000 words) of the content for each of the three national reports.
- Provide analytical inputs on CETM production, processing, market dynamics, and policy instruments.
- Draft the overarching project report summarizing key findings and formulate recommendations for scaling up and replication.
Experience Requirements
- At least 7 years of work experience in conducting national development policy analysis, including on issues related to value addition and economic diversification along and around the minerals global value chain is required.
- Proven expertise in CETM value chains, covering mining, processing, manufacturing, and recycling is desirable.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with experience producing policy reports, economic studies, or industrial assessments are desirable.
- Experience with economic complexity analysis and trade-related productive development strategies is desirable.
- Experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, or government institutions is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
An advanced university degree, Master, in Economics, Industrial Policy, Development Studies, or related fields is required.
