Overview
Responsible for the management, implementation, coordination, execution, and monitoring of IOM Iraq Country Office’s protection projects. Ensures the centrality of protection in line with IOM policies and procedures.
Tasks Summary
- Manage and coordinate the development and implementation of IOM Protection activities
- Strengthen and develop the capacity to deliver protection support and core protection activities
- Monitor, supervise, train, coach and oversee the work of the Core Protection Unit’s staff
- Manage core protection related projects, activities and budgets
- Analyze context and dynamics, assess opportunities and capacity for cooperation with national authorities
- Support in representing Protection activities at relevant meetings
- Mentor and support staff in their professional development
- Coordinate with and provide technical expertise and lessons learned to IOM’s Protection Regional Thematic Speciali
Experience Requirements
- Experience in managing and coordinating protection projects and activities
- Experience in protection monitoring and advocacy, GBV and TiP case management, and community-based protection initiatives
- Experience in capacity building of staff and implementing partners
- Experience in analyzing context and dynamics, and assessing cooperation opportunities with national authorities, local governments and CSOs
