Overview
Provide technical support to mhGAP trained clinical staff for diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up of patients with mental health conditions. Mentor medical doctors and psychologists to ensure quality treatment plans and provide mhGAP training.
Tasks Summary
- Provide regular supervision sessions to ensure proper treatment plans and patient follow-up.
- Prescribe drugs as per WHO and national recommendations.
- Mitigate counter-transfer issues and ensure doctor's neutrality.
- Ensure referral pathways function and provide specialized consultations.
- Mentor mhGAP-trained medical doctors and psychologists.
- Provide mhGAP training and refreshers.
- Assess risk of self-harm, suicide, and harm to others.
- Protect rights of involuntary patients.
- Provide guidance on psychotropic prescription.
- Support quality narrative patient records and confidentiality.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and community.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of experience in psychiatric care.
- Previous NGO experience preferred.
Qualification Requirements
• mhGAP certification by WHO preferred.
