Overview

The MEAL Coordinator will lead the design and implementation of MEAL systems for the SEAL Project to ensure evidence-driven, high-quality, and accountable programming. The role involves leading MEAL systems, assessments, data quality, learning, reporting, and accountability mechanisms.


Tasks Summary
  • Lead the design, updating, and implementation of the SEAL MEAL Strategy/MEAL Plan
  • Review and standardize monitoring tools, tracking systems, templates, and reporting flows
  • Coordinate and oversee SEAL assessments and learning exercises
  • Support commissioning and management of internal/external evaluations and reviews
  • Oversee data collection planning, storage, analysis, and reporting
  • Coordinate with MoE and Education Offices to obtain required education data
  • Build capacity of SEAL staff and relevant MEAL colleagues on MEAL standards
  • Provide practical coaching to staff and partners on data collection, management, and quality controls
  • Promote child-friendly and inclusive approaches in monitoring and feedback collection
  • Conduct routine Data Quality Assessments (DQA) and lead corrective action follow-up
  • Ensure effective data management practices and maintain an organized evidence repository
  • Lead analysis and drafting/review of results, learning, and evidence sections in SEAL reports
  • Coordinate with the Country MEAL team on reach and results tracking
  • Prepare and submit SEAL MEAL reports
  • Lead periodic data review and reflection sessions with SEAL program team and partners
  • Document lessons learned and support learning products
  • Contribute evidence to advocacy and education technical positioning
  • Strengthen accountability systems for SEAL to ensure feedback channels are safe, accessible, child-friendly, and responsive
  • Support implementation and monitoring of stakeholder engagement activities
  • Ensure complaints and feedback systems are planned, budgeted, and implemented
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of assessment/monitoring teams
  • Ensure performance management, supportive supervision, and a positive working environment

Experience Requirements

Experience in leading the design and implementation of MEAL systems, assessments, data quality, learning, reporting, and accountability mechanisms. Experience in coordinating with government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Education) and partners. Experience in capacity strengthening of staff and partners. Experience in data quality assessments, data management, and analysis. Experience in developing and implementing feedback mechanisms. Experience in staff management and supervision.
