Overview

Oversee and manage two Education in Emergencies Consortia in Sudan, ensuring seamless operations, high-quality implementation, and compliance with donor requirements.


Tasks Summary
  • Provide overall direction and leadership of the Consortium
  • Coordinate with consortium members for high quality implementation
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the project, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and budget spending
  • Represent the Consortium towards relevant stakeholders
  • Line manage and supervise the work of the Consortium Management Unit
  • Lead consultations, design and preparation of the next phase of the Consortium
  • Contribute to fundraising initiatives
  • Oversee and monitor consortium partners’ spending
  • Ensure effective coordination and communication among consortium members
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and donor requirements
  • Adapt project to changes in context and donor requests
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure complementarity of interventions
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the Consortium's communications and advocacy strategy
  • Cultivate and strengthen positive, productive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Develop project proposals in collaboration with consortium member staff
  • Coordinate input for reporting to donors
  • Responsible for quality control of donor applications and reports
  • Responsible for full grants and proposals management
  • Ensure grant files are up to date
  • Lead and/or facilitate consortium committees meetings

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of humanitarian experience across multiple contexts
  • At least 2 years’ experience of youth programmes
  • At least 3 years project management experience of managing multi-million (EURO) projects
  • Experience in consortium management or extensive involvement in a consortium, with a multi-year duration
  • Experience developing training tools, manuals, information management systems for humanitarian action and accountability to affected people
  • Self-motivated and confident communicator, with experience in giving briefings and presentations
  • Strong inter-personal skills, working well both in teams and independently
  • Able to work under pressure and good at timely decision making
  • Preferred experience or knowledge of Sudan context

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum BA in relevant areas preferably

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Contract Duration: • One year – with possibility of extension

Work Modality: Staff must report from Port Sudan

Remuneration: • grade 9 of NRC’s international pay scale (USD 5,189)
