Overview
Responsible for ensuring the provision of MHPSS support and services to vulnerable and at-risk children according to best practice standards. Provides technical supervision, training, and coaching to MHPSS Officers.
Tasks Summary
- Support planning and implementation of community-based MHPSS activities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of DIPs
- Support procurement processes, prepare work plans, and contribute to cash forecasts and logistics requests
- Coordinate with program and area managers for operational support
- Ensure timely implementation of activities and document delays, risks, or challenges
- Identify and address gaps in MHPSS knowledge and skills
- Conduct training sessions and on-the-job coaching
- Support technical planning and rollout of SCI’s structured psychosocial support and parenting interventions
- Support technical planning and roll out of evidence-based psychological interventions
- Conduct and document regular structured supervision and coaching sessions
- Provide support for external referral of complex cases
- Oversee implementation of a safe, confidential MHPSS record-keeping system
- Collaborate with MEAL staff to oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems
- Compile weekly and monthly reports
- Ensure timely and high-quality inputs to SCI and donor reports
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on assessments, trainings, and referrals
- Coordinate with MEAL and data teams for data accuracy and timeliness
- Contribute to documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practices
- Coordinate service mapping for MHPSS services and maintain relationships with service providers
- Facilitate referrals for specialized and non-specialized MHPSS services
- Maintain coordination and collaboration with SCI’s CP, Health, Education, and other sectoral teams
- Liaise with partners, CBOs, and relevant authorities
- Identify potential partner organizations and develop collaborative partnerships
- Stay up to date with evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in Child and Adolescent Psychology
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in providing MHPSS support and services to vulnerable and at-risk children
- Experience in providing regular technical supervision, training, and coaching to MHPSS Officers
- Experience in developing and adapting evidence-based MHPSS training and educational materials
- Experience in overseeing the implementation of robust record-keeping systems at the field level
- Experience in program planning, delivery, and implementation of community-based and person-focused MHPSS activities
- Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of DIPs
- Experience in supporting procurement processes, preparing work plans, and contributing to cash forecasts and logistics requests
- Experience in coordinating with program and area managers at the field level
- Experience in identifying and addressing gaps in MHPSS knowledge and skills
- Experience in conducting training sessions and on-the-job coaching on PFA, Basic Helping Skills, and integration of MHPSS into sectoral programming
- Experience in supporting the technical planning and rollout of SCI’s structured psychosocial support and parenting interventions
- Experience in supporting the technical planning and roll out of evidence-based, scalable psychological interventions
- Experience in conducting and documenting regular structured supervision and coaching sessions
- Experience in providing support to MHPSS Officers for external referral of complex cases
- Experience in overseeing the implementation of a safe, confidential MHPSS record-keeping system
- Experience in collaborating with MEAL staff to oversee field-level implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems
