Overview

Support the Centre in Doha in fulfilling its mandate through various human rights activities and administrative tasks.

Tasks Summary

• Support human rights education and training, and knowledge management and documentation units
• Organize meetings, training programs, workshops
• Assist with database management, data collection, analysis, and storage
• Research human rights issues
• Translate documents from English to Arabic and vice versa
• Collect and enter data relevant to human rights work
• Develop information and resource tools
• Participate in staff meetings and discussions
• Draft minutes of meetings
• Assist with logistical support for activities
• Prepare lists of participants, draft papers, reports, and concept notes
• Support organization and implementation of activities
• Perform other related duties

Experience Requirements

No work experience is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), OR
• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
• Education in political science, social science, law, human rights, international relations or any other relevant field
• Computer literate in standard software applications

Languages Required: English and Arabic (both oral and written)

Languages Preferred: French

Contract Duration: 2-6 months

Work Modality: In-Person

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
