Overview

The consultant will support the World Health Organization Türkiye Country Office in advancing the Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) in Türkiye, focusing on capacity development and institutionalization.


Tasks Summary
  • Plan, design, and develop Advanced FETP Outbreak and Surveillance Training Module Development Workshop and submit final adapted training package and workshop activity report.
  • Plan, design, and develop Advanced FETP Türkiye Disease Modelling Training Module and deliver a dedicated Advanced-level training workshop, submitting final adapted training package and workshop activity report.
  • Adapt 3-month Frontline FETP Modules to Turkish National context through FETP Türkiye Disease Modelling Training Module Development Workshop, submitting final adapted frontline training package and workshop activity report.
  • Plan, design, and co-deliver Frontline FETP Module training, develop/adapt evaluation and assessment tools, and submit module and participant assessments tools along with training activity report.
  • Plan, design, and co-deliver FETP Non-Communicable Diseases Module training, develop/adapt evaluation and assessment tools, and submit module and participant assessments tools along with training activity report.
  • Co-develop a minimum of 3 abstracts and scientific papers for dissemination of findings and recommendations, submitting an activity report upon development.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in epidemiology and/or Field Epidemiology Training Programmes, including training delivery and mentorship.
  • Experience working with Ministries of Health and international organizations is required.
  • Up to 5 years of experience working on the control and prevention of infectious diseases including on epidemic diseases and networking with clinicians.
  • At least 3 of the 5 years with international exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering public health, infectious diseases, field epidemiology training programs and capacity building activities.
  • Past experience in outbreak investigation, disease surveillance, and or epidemiological research.

Qualification Requirements
  • First university degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Graduate of a recognized Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) or equivalent (desirable).
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field (desirable).
Other Details

Languages Required: Expert knowledge of English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Languages Preferred: Intermediate knowledge of Turkish

Contract Duration: 6 months
